About
"Ihuoma Iroaganachi" is a novelist and storyteller whose work moves between the intimate and the epic — tracing families, memory, and the quiet truths we carry across generations.
Her debut novel, The Weight of Silence, follows three generations of a Lagos family as a long-buried secret resurfaces during a homecoming. Her short fiction and essays have explored West African markets, unsent letters, and the small gods of everyday life.
“I write the stories I couldn't find on the shelf — the ones that stay long after the last page.”
When she isn't writing, she is reading two books at once, collecting other people's letters, and chasing the perfect cup of tea. She believes the best stories are a little dangerous — nothing, after all, is more dangerous than a woman with secrets.
